Wi-Fi QR code generator

Free Wi-Fi QR code generator

Guests point their phone camera at the code and join your network in one tap — nobody spells out the password again. Free, no account, and the code never expires.

1. What should it do?

2. Destination

3. Design

A logo raises error correction to the highest level automatically. 25% is the tested ceiling — past that the code stops resolving.

Print at 2 cm or larger, and always test-scan the final artwork.

How it works

1

Enter your network name

Type the Wi-Fi name (SSID) exactly as it appears in your phone’s Wi-Fi list — it is case-sensitive.

2

Add the password and security

Most home and business routers use WPA/WPA2/WPA3. Pick “Open” only if your network has no password.

3

Download and print

Download PNG for a quick print or SVG for a sign. Test-scan it with your own phone before you put it out.

Where a Wi-Fi QR code earns its place

  • Front desks, waiting rooms and lobbies
  • Café and restaurant table tents
  • Airbnb and vacation-rental welcome books
  • Offices and meeting rooms for visitors
  • Event check-in and conference badges

Keep your main network private

Anyone who scans the code can read the password, so print it for a guest network, not the one your computers and payment terminal use. Most routers can create a separate guest network in a couple of minutes.

If you change the Wi-Fi password, the old code stops working — a Wi-Fi code stores the password itself, so it can’t be redirected. Make a new one and replace the print.

Questions

Do iPhones and Android phones scan Wi-Fi QR codes?

Yes. Recent iPhones and Android phones read Wi-Fi QR codes straight from the camera app and offer to join the network. Older Android phones may need Google Lens.

Is it safe to put my Wi-Fi password in a QR code?

The password is stored in the code as plain text, so anyone who scans it can read it. That is fine for a guest network you are happy to share — use one rather than your main network.

My network is hidden. Will the code still work?

Yes. Tick “Hidden network” so phones know to look for it, and make sure the network name matches exactly, including capital letters.

Does a Wi-Fi QR code expire?

No. It works for as long as your network name and password stay the same. If you change either one, generate a new code.

Need to change it after printing?

Dynamic QR codes let you change where a printed code points, any time, and show how many people scanned it.
