Free QR codes that never expire
The codes you make here hold your link inside the pattern itself. There’s no trial that runs out, no scan limit, and nothing on our side that can switch them off.
1. What should it do?
2. Destination
Right now this link is locked into the code forever. With a dynamic code you could change where it points after it's printed, and see how many people scanned it.
See dynamic plans3. Design
A logo raises error correction to the highest level automatically. 25% is the tested ceiling — past that the code stops resolving.
Fill in a destination to download.
Print at 2 cm or larger, and always test-scan the final artwork.
How it works
Paste your link
Any website, file or page address, starting with https://.
Style it if you like
Colors, dot and corner shapes, and your logo in the middle. None of it affects how long the code works.
Download — that’s it
PNG, JPG or SVG up to 4096px. No account, no email, no watermark.
Why some “free” QR codes stop working
Some QR generators quietly make a dynamic code even when you only asked for a simple one. Instead of your link, the code contains a short link on the generator’s own domain, which forwards to yours. When the free trial ends or a subscription lapses, that forwarding is switched off — and every printed copy of your code stops working.
A static code doesn’t have a middleman. Your link is written directly into the pattern, so it keeps working even if the website that made it disappears.
How to check an existing QR code
Scan it with your phone camera and look at the link it shows before you open it. If it shows your own website address, it’s static and won’t expire. If it shows someone else’s short domain, it depends on that company staying paid up.
When a dynamic code is the better choice
Dynamic codes aren’t bad — they’re what let you change the destination after printing and count scans. Just choose them on purpose, from someone who tells you what happens if you stop paying. Ours keep working for 30 days after a plan lapses, and you get a warning first.
Questions
Do QR codes expire?
A static QR code never expires — the information is stored in the pattern itself. Dynamic QR codes can stop working if the service behind them is switched off, for example when a free trial or subscription ends.
Is there a scan limit on free codes?
No. A static code is never in contact with our servers when it’s scanned, so there is nothing to count or limit.
Will my codes stop working if QRCreator shuts down?
Free static codes won’t — they don’t depend on us at all. Dynamic codes do depend on the service, which is why we give 30 days’ grace and a warning if a plan lapses.
Can I edit a static QR code after printing?
No. To change a static code you make a new one. If you think the link may change, use a dynamic code from the start.
Need to change it after printing?
Dynamic QR codes let you change where a printed code points, any time, and show how many people scanned it.
