Free vCard QR code for business cards
One scan saves your name, number, email and website straight into the other person’s contacts — no typing, no typos. Free, no account, no watermark.
1. What should it do?
2. Destination
3. Design
A logo raises error correction to the highest level automatically. 25% is the tested ceiling — past that the code stops resolving.
Print at 2 cm or larger, and always test-scan the final artwork.
How it works
Fill in your details
Name, company, job title, phone, email, website and address. Leave out anything you don’t want shared.
Check it on your phone
Scan the preview with your own phone. It should offer to create a new contact with everything filled in.
Add it to your card
Download SVG for your printer or designer. On a standard business card, keep the code at least 0.8 inches (2 cm) wide.
Fewer fields, faster scans
A vCard code stores your details inside the pattern, so every field you add makes the code denser and a little harder to scan when it’s printed small. Phone, email and website are usually all someone needs.
For a design on the back of a card, keep high contrast — dark code on a light background — and leave a quiet margin around it.
When your details change
A vCard code is static: if you change jobs or numbers, the printed code still holds the old details, and you’ll need a new one. If you’d rather never reprint, point a dynamic QR code at a contact page on your website and update that page instead.
Questions
What is a vCard QR code?
It is a QR code that contains a contact card in the standard vCard format. When someone scans it, their phone offers to save you as a new contact with your details already filled in.
Do phones need an app to scan it?
No. iPhones and most Android phones scan vCard QR codes with the built-in camera app.
How big should the QR code be on a business card?
At least 0.8 inches (2 cm) wide. If you include lots of fields, go a little bigger and test-scan a printed proof first.
Can I update the contact details later?
Not on a vCard code — the details live inside the printed pattern. Make a new code when your details change, or use a dynamic code that links to a contact page you can edit.
Need to change it after printing?
Dynamic QR codes let you change where a printed code points, any time, and show how many people scanned it.
